Is anyone finding you?
And what do AI assistants say instead?
SURFACE is a desktop visibility tracker for indie brands. It brings together your Search Console and PageSpeed data, Google Trends, community mentions, and what Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity say when buyers ask, in one Monday digest. On your own computer.

Three angles, one place
Marketing a small product starts with one question.
Answering it by hand means opening Search Console, PageSpeed, Trends, a few communities and four chatbots. SURFACE checks every day and puts the answer in one app.
AI visibility
What a stranger sees when they ask an assistant
SURFACE asks Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity the questions a buyer would type, such as "best offline markdown notes app", and sends nothing else: no system prompt.
- Whether your product is named, and its rank when the answer is a list
- Which of your listed competitors appear instead
- The pages Perplexity cited; every answer stored and readable in full

Interest and community
Buyer phrases and the posts that mention you
Google Trends for the phrases buyers search ("offline note taking app", not just your brand name), with the 7-day change and 90-day peak.
- Daily scan of Hacker News and your own RSS or Atom feeds
- Reddit's public search feeds if you switch them on; no Reddit account needed

Google Search and the Monday digest
Last seven finalized days against the seven before
Your own Search Console data (90-day first pull, with a deliberate two-day lag because Google finalizes search data about 48 hours late), plus PageSpeed scores and Core Web Vitals per page.
- Clicks, impressions, CTR, position and new queries
- PageSpeed changes, trend direction, AI mention rate per engine, new community posts
- Read it in the app, open it in your browser, or have it emailed through your own mail account

How it's built
Your data stays on your computer.
Local-first
A database on your computer. Keys and passwords live in Windows Credential Manager or macOS Keychain. No account, no SURFACE server, no analytics.
Bring your own keys
SURFACE only talks to the services you connect, with your own credentials. AI calls are billed to your own keys.
Workspaces for brands and clients
One workspace per brand or client. Export a workspace to JSON (no keys) to hand it over; import never overwrites. A command line for automation, and an interface in 10 languages.
Honest limits
SURFACE measures the gap. The content work closes it.
Setup takes a little while
Connecting Google is one-time work: Search Console, a Cloud project, an OAuth client and a PageSpeed key. The user guide walks through each step.
Zero is a starting point
A brand name shows zero in Google Trends until people search for it, and assistants rarely mention a product nobody has written about yet.
No promises about rankings
SURFACE doesn't change what assistants say and makes no ranking or traffic promises. It shows you where you stand, every week.
Windows
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
Mac
Apple Silicon (M1 or later), macOS 15 or later. Intel Macs are not supported.
Free trial on sample data
See where your brand stands this week.
The trial shows every page on built-in sample brands, so you can see the whole app before you connect anything. Buy once and it's yours, with updates.
